Elementary

For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:6

It is our desire that your child be greatly enriched for having attended Round Rock Christian Academy. In the elementary grades, the core academic curriculum is enhanced with the opportunity for students to learn and grow in chapel/Bible study, music/fine arts, foreign language, art, physical education, learning centers, creative play, library, and computers. All basics and fundamentals in academics are thoroughly covered in each grade level and are taught from a Christian worldview.

The curriculum is rooted in a God-centered view of life, allowing students the opportunity to understand themselves and the world around them from a biblical perspective. All truth is found in God and is derived from His revealed Word and from objective observation of the world He created. In all matters, the Scriptures are supreme. The integration of biblical faith and learning is the responsibility and primary function of each teacher at RRCA. Faculty receive worldview training through the Focus on the Family TRUTH project as well the Cultivate Project mentoring and relationship-focused program produced by Pass the Baton, International.

To ensure core academic standards are vertically and horizontally aligned, we have developed an annual curriculum overview map to steer our course of study. In addition to this published overview, our comprehensive curriculum guide includes the philosophy, the scope and sequence, adopted textbooks, and the objectives for each subject by grade level. It is available for review upon request.

We use materials from several Christian publishing companies (ABeka, ACSI, Concerned Communications, CSI, and Bob Jones) as well as secular companies such as Saxon Math, Houghton-Mifflin, Thompson, Prentice-Hall and Zaner-Bloser. We desire to select the best instructional materials available from Christian and secular publishers in order to achieve our overall curricula goals, therefore all subjects are taught from a Christian worldview perspective.
